Description
The Snake-bark maple (Acer capillipes) is an upright, loose large shrub or small tree that produces light yellow flowers arranged in clusters. They appear in May. These produce red-brown winged fruits. The Snake-bark maple also has dark green, light red veined leaves. Its bark is striped. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 9 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.
