Description
The Japanese maple 'Deshojo' (Acer palmatum) is an upright, picturesque shrub that produces purple-red flowers arranged in clusters. They appear in May. These produce red winged fruits. The Japanese maple 'Deshojo' also bears cut, light green leaves. The bright red shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and grows to around 3 metres wide.
