Description
The Japanese maple 'Katsura' (Acer palmatum) is a multi-stemmed, umbrella-shaped, picturesque, shrub-like large shrub or small shrub that produces purple-red flowers arranged in clusters. They appear in May. These produce red-brown winged fruits. The Japanese maple 'Katsura' also has cut, light green leaves. The yellow shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 metres and grows to a width of approx. 2 metres.
