Description
The Japanese maple 'Murasaki kiyohime' (Acer palmatum) is a multi-stemmed, umbrella-shaped, picturesque, broad, compact large shrub that produces purplish-red flowers arranged in clusters. These appear in May. These develop into reddish-brown winged fruits. The Japanese maple 'Murasaki kiyohime' also bears lobed, medium-green leaves with light green and purplish-red markings. In a sunny position with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1 m and spreads to approx. 1 m.
