Description
The Japanese maple 'Okushimo' (Acer palmatum) is a multi-stemmed, umbrella-shaped, picturesque, upright large shrub that produces purplish-red flowers arranged in clusters. These appear in May. They develop into reddish-brown winged fruits. In addition, the Japanese maple 'Okushimo' bears lobed, medium-green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shaded, wind-protected position with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 2.5 m and spreads to approx. 2.5 m.
