Description
The Japanese maple 'Pixie' (Acer palmatum) is a multi-stemmed, umbrella-shaped, picturesque, compact large shrub that produces purple-red flowers arranged in clusters. They appear in May. These produce red-brown winged fruits. The Japanese maple 'Pixie' also has cut, medium green leaves with black and red markings. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to around 2 metres wide.
