Description
The Norway maple 'Crimson Sentry' (Acer platanoides) is a dense, slender, deciduous large or small tree with decorative, purple-red leaves. The scarlet-red shoots are also an interesting sight. It also bears greenish-yellow flowers arranged in umbels from March to April. These produce brown winged fruits. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of around 10 metres and grows to a width of around 2.5 metres.
