Description
The Norway maple 'Olmsted' (Acer platanoides) is a columnar tree that produces greenish-yellow flowers arranged in umbels. They appear in April. These produce brown winged fruits. The Norway maple 'Olmsted' also has medium green leaves. The bronze-coloured shoots are also an interesting sight. Its bark is dark grey and longitudinally furrowed. In a sunny to semi-shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and grows to a width of around 6 metres. The Norway maple 'Olmsted' makes no special demands on the soil.
