Description
The Norway maple 'Royal Red' (Acer platanoides) is a conical, broad, deciduous large tree with decorative, purple-red leaves. The red shoots are also an interesting sight. In April, it also bears red-yellow flowers arranged in umbels. These produce brown winged fruits. In a sunny to semi-shady location, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and is around 8 metres wide. The Norway maple 'Royal Red' makes no particular demands on the soil.
