Description
The Hollyhock (Alcea ficifolia) is an upright, clump-forming perennial that produces yellow, red, pink or light pink, cupped flowers arranged in clusters from June to September. Its roundish leaves are medium green in colour. In a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to a width of around 60 cm. The Hollyhock is well tolerant of frost.
