Description
The Common alder 'Imperialis' (Alnus glutinosa) is a slender, overhanging, deciduous small tree with decorative, deeply slit, dark green leaves. It also bears light brown flowers arranged in catkins from March to April. In a sunny location with moist to wet, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of around 10 metres.

Leaves
