Description
The Common alder 'Pyramidalis' (Alnus glutinosa) is a pyramidal, picturesque large tree that produces light brown flowers arranged in catkins. They appear from March to April. The Common alder 'Pyramidalis' also has roundish, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. Its bark is dark grey and longitudinally furrowed. In a sunny to semi-shady location with moist to wet, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 25 metres and grows to a width of approx. 14 metres.
