Description
The Eastern bluestar (Amsonia ciliata) is a bushy, upright perennial that produces blue, star-shaped flowers arranged in umbels with a pleasant fragrance from June to July. Its needle-shaped leaves are medium green in colour. In a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1 m and grows to a width of approx. 60 cm. The Eastern bluestar is well tolerant of frost.
