Description
The Hen and chickens fern (Asplenium bulbiferum) is a decorative houseplant with its feathery, medium green leaf fronds. It feels most at home in a semi-shady to shady location and in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Under favourable conditions, this fern reaches a height of approx. 1 m and grows up to 1 m wide.

Frost-free overwintering at 12 to 15°C is required.

Care
- The plants, which are sensitive to full sun, are well suited to an east or west-facing window with mild morning or evening sun.
- High water permeability of the substrate is extremely important: waterlogging and standing water in the pot inevitably lead to rotting.
