Description
The Alpine aster (Aster alpinus) is an upright, cushion-forming perennial that produces blue-violet, basket-shaped flowers with a pleasant fragrance from May to June. Its lanceolate leaves are medium green in colour. In a sunny location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 25 cm and is approx. 20 cm wide. The Alpine aster is well tolerant of frost.
