Description
The Chinese astilbe 'Purpurkerze' (Astilbe chinensis var. taquetii) is a clump-forming perennial that produces purple-red flowers arranged in panicles from July to August. Its pinnate leaves are dark green. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.2 m and is approx. 50 cm wide. The Chinese astilbe 'Purpurkerze' is well tolerant of frost.
