Description
The Astilbe 'Purple Rain' (Astilbe x arendsii) is an upright perennial that forms purple-red flowers arranged in panicles from July to September. Its pinnate leaves are dark green. In a semi-shady to shady location with lime-free, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 55 cm and is approx. 60 cm wide. The Astilbe 'Purple Rain' is well tolerant of frost.
