Description
The Spotted laurel 'Variegata' (Aucuba japonica) is an upright, broad shrub with decorative, red, oval fruits that stay on for a very long time. These are small. It produces reddish flowers arranged in panicles from April to May. The Spotted laurel 'Variegata' also bears shiny, leathery, lanceolate, yellow-green leaves. In a semi-shady to shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, sandy, loamy, weakly acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 2.5 m and is approx. 2.5 m wide.
