Description
The Kirishima azalea 'Little Red' (Rhododendron obtusum) produces a veritable sea of red flowers from mid-May to mid-June. Its winter-green foliage is dark green. This upright, loosely growing shrub usually reaches a height of 60 - 80 cm and a width of 0.8 to 1 m. A semi-shady (to shady) location and a well-drained, nutrient-rich, acidic soil create optimal conditions for healthy growth. The Kirishima azalea 'Little Red' is well tolerant of frost.
