Description
The False indigo (Baptisia australis) is a bushy, upright perennial with decorative, lanceolate, grey-green leaves. From May to June, it bears blue, butterfly-shaped flowers arranged in umbels. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich, sandy, dry soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 60 cm and is approx. 60 cm wide. The False indigo is well tolerant of frost.
