Description
The Japanese barberry 'Helmond Pillar' (Berberis thunbergii) is a columnar small shrub with decorative, red fruits that stay on for a very long time. It produces yellow-orange flowers in May. The Japanese barberry 'Helmond Pillar' also has roundish, purple-red leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 m and grows to a width of approx. 70 cm.
