Description
The Japanese barberry 'Maria'(s) (Berberis thunbergii) is an upright, broad shrub or small bush with decorative fruits that stay on for a very long time. It produces yellow flowers in May. The Japanese barberry 'Maria'(s) also has roundish, golden yellow leaves. In a semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 80 cm and is approx. 60 cm wide.
