Description
The Purple bergenia 'Wintermärchen' (Bergenia purpurascens) is an upright, spreading, creeping, winter-green perennial with decorative, egg-shaped, medium-green leaves. From April to May, it bears dark pink, bell-shaped flowers arranged in umbels. In a sunny to shady location with well-drained, loose, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 30 cm and is approx. 40 cm wide. The Purple bergenia 'Wintermärchen' is well tolerant of frost.
