Description
The Südafrikanische Purpurdistel 'Silver Spike' (Berkheya purpurea) is an upright perennial that produces light purple, basket-shaped flowers from July to August. Its lanceolate, toothed leaves are silvery in colour. In a sunny location with well-drained soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 60 cm and is approx. 40 cm wide. The Südafrikanische Purpurdistel 'Silver Spike' is well tolerant of frost.
