Description
The Silver birch (Betula pendula) is a slender, overhanging, picturesque large tree that produces greenish-yellow flowers arranged in catkins. They appear from March to April. These produce light brown fruits. The Silver birch also bears triangular, diamond-shaped, light green leaves. Its bark is white, rolling. In a sunny location, it usually reaches a height of approx. 30 m and is approx. 12 m wide. The Silver birch makes no special demands on the soil.
