Description
The Common camellia (Camellia japonica) is a very popular, evergreen container plant that can produce brown fruit if well cared for. Its decorative flowers appear from February to May. The dark green leaves are lanceolate and glossy, leathery. The location should be as sunny to semi-shady as possible. A well-drained, humus-rich, sandy and loamy soil is ideal. Under favourable conditions, the Common camellia reaches a height of approx. 3 m and grows up to 2 m wide.

Leaves
