Description
The Bluebeard (Caryopteris clandonensis) is an upright small shrub that produces blue flowers with a pleasant fragrance. They appear from July to September. The Bluebeard also has matt, lanceolate, dark green leaves. In a sunny, sheltered location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 1 metre and grows to around 1 metre wide.

Leaves
The deciduous leaves of the Bluebeard are dark green, lanceolate, matt, opposite. They are about 5 - 8 cm in size.

Bluebeard is an upright growing small shrub. It usually reaches a height of 0.6 - 1 m and is approx. 0.6 - 1 m wide. It usually grows 15 - 60 cm per year.

Preferred location in a sunny, sheltered position.

Soil
Normal soil.

Planting time
Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).

Care
Cut back boldly in spring so that the plant grows compactly.

The blue flowers appear from July to September. They are pleasantly fragrant.
