Description
The Eastern redbud 'Ruby Falls' (Cercis canadensis) is a sprawling, picturesque, shrub-like, deciduous large shrub with decorative, heart-shaped, dark red leaves. It also bears carmine-red, butterfly-shaped flowers from April to May. These produce brown, pod-shaped fruits. In a sunny location with well-drained, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of around 3 metres and is around 2.5 metres wide.
