Description
The Eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis) is a sprawling, picturesque large shrub that produces crimson, butterfly-shaped flowers. They appear from April to May. These produce brown, pod-shaped fruits. The Eastern redbud also has heart-shaped, medium green leaves. In a sunny location with well-drained, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of around 10 metres and is around 8 metres wide.
