Description
The Chinese redbud (Cercis chinensis) is a shrub-like garden plant that produces purple or pink flowers. They appear from April to May. The Chinese redbud also has heart-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of around 15 metres and grows to a width of around 10 metres.
