Description
The Japanese quince 'Rubra' (Chaenomeles speciosa) is a spreading shrub that produces red flowers. They appear from March to May. With the right care, the Japanese quince 'Rubra' will flower again from July to August. These produce yellow, pear-shaped, round fruits from August. The Japanese quince 'Rubra' also has lanceolate, medium green leaves. In a sunny location, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 metres and grows to a width of approx. 1.7 metres. The Japanese quince 'Rubra' makes no particular demands on the soil.
