The Purple clematis 'Aotearoa' (Clematis viticella) is a climbing deciduous small shrub that produces purple, bell-shaped flowers. They appear from May to June. With the right care, the Purple clematis 'Aotearoa' will flower again in September. The Purple clematis 'Aotearoa' also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady, wind-protected location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose, sandy, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 2.5 m and grows to a width of approx. 90 cm.
