Description
The Traveller´s joy 'Piilu' (clematis) is a climbing deciduous plant that produces magenta-coloured, cup-shaped flowers. They appear in June. With the right care, the Traveller´s joy 'Piilu' will flower again from August to September. The Traveller´s joy 'Piilu' also has pinnate, medium green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, loose soil, it usually reaches a height of around 2 metres and grows to around 1 metre wide.

Synonyms (botanical): Clematis 'Mini Dr Ruppel'.

Leaves
The deciduous leaves of the Traveller´s joy 'Piilu' are medium green, pinnate and opposite.

The Traveller´s joy 'Piilu' has good frost hardiness.

Growth
Traveller´s joy 'Piilu' is a climbing plant that grows like a vine and can reach a height of 1.5 - 2 m and a width of 0.5 - 1 m.

Water
Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out in the meantime.

Location
Preferred location in a sunny to semi-shady position.

Soil
Standard container plant soil. Normal soil.

Planting time
Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).

Tasks

Care
- A slow-release fertiliser can be used in spring. This releases the nutrients slowly and continuously so that the plant is evenly supplied over a longer period of time. - Watering less frequently, but thoroughly and thoroughly, encourages the plant roots to penetrate deeper into the soil. This enables the plant to survive dry periods better.

Flower
The magenta-coloured, cup-shaped flowers appear in June. These grow to about 8 - 10 cm in size. With proper care, re-flowering from August to September.
