Description
The New Zealand cabbage palm 'Burgundy Spire' (Cordyline australis) is a very popular evergreen container plant. Its creamy white flowers are tubular and appear from March to May. They exude a pleasant fragrance. The dark red leaves are linear. The location should be as sunny as possible. Well-drained soil is ideal. In favourable conditions, the New Zealand cabbage palm 'Burgundy Spire' reaches a height of approx. 3 m and grows up to 1.5 m wide.

Care

The plants should therefore be transplanted into a larger pot with fresh potted plant soil every two years in spring. - As soon as temperatures no longer fall below 5°C, even at night, this plant can also be taken outside. A shower with lukewarm water will remove dust and revitalise your favourite. A semi-shady spot without direct sunlight is best to prevent leaf damage. If necessary, the plant can also be repotted outdoors in spring, which saves cleaning work indoors.
