Description
The White dogwood 'Red Gnome' (Cornus alba) is an upright, broad, large shrub with decorative, round fruits. It produces creamy white flowers arranged in umbels from May to June. The White dogwood 'Red Gnome' also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with moist to wet soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.5 metres and grows to a width of approx. 1.5 metres.

Container plants can be planted all year round, except when the soil is frozen and in summer heat (over 30°C).

Care
To maintain the intensive bark colouring in winter, all shoots older than three years are removed in spring before budding. If the entire shrub is old and withered, it is best to cut it back completely 10 to 20 cm above the ground.
