Description
The Pagoda dogwood 'Silver Giant' (Cornus alternifolia) is a spreading, broad, deciduous large shrub with decorative, egg-shaped, grey-green leaves with a creamy white edge. It also bears creamy white flowers arranged in umbrella clusters from May to June. These produce black, round fruits from August. They exude a strong fragrance. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil, it usually reaches a height of around 6 metres and grows to a width of around 5 metres.
