The Kousa 'Big Apple' (Cornus kousa) is an upright, spreading, pyramidal large shrub with decorative, red, round fruits. Before these appear, it produces white flowers in June. The Kousa 'Big Apple' also has ovate, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shaded position with well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free, sandy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 4 m and spreads to approx. 3 m.
