Description
The Kousa 'Melanie' (Cornus kousa) is an upright, spreading shrub with decorative, round fruits. Before these appear, it produces white flowers from late May to June. The Kousa 'Melanie' also has egg-shaped, green-and-white leaves. In a sunny to semi-shaded position with well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free, sandy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 2.5 m and spreads to approx. 1.5 m.

Leaves
The deciduous leaves of Kousa 'Melanie' are green-white, ovate, opposite and wavy. They are about 8–9 cm in size. Kousa 'Melanie' turns a bright pink in autumn.
