Description
The Kousa 'Scarlet Fire'® (Cornus kousa) is an upright, spreading large shrub with decorative, pink-red, round fruits. It produces carmine-red flowers in early June. The Kousa 'Scarlet Fire'® also has egg-shaped, dark green leaves. The purple-red shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free, sandy soil, it usually reaches a height of around 6 metres and grows to around 5 metres wide.
