Description
The Japanese cornelian cherry 'Kintoki' (Cornus officinalis) is a sprawling, multi-stemmed large shrub with decorative, dark red, oval fruits. These exude a pleasant fragrance. It produces yellow flowers from February to March. The Japanese cornelian cherry 'Kintoki' also has shiny, egg-shaped, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, calcareous soil, it usually reaches a height of around 4 metres and grows to a width of around 3 metres.
