The Midland hawthorn 'Paul´s Scarlet Hamlet' (Crataegus laevigata) is an irregular, branched large shrub with decorative, scarlet, oval fruits. These give off a pleasant fragrance. Prior to this, from April to May, it produces dark pink flowers arranged in panicles. The Midland hawthorn 'Paul´s Scarlet Hamlet' also bears glossy, leathery, ovate, dark green leaves. In a sunny to semi-shaded position with well-drained, nutrient-rich, loamy soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 6 m.
