Description
The Carthusian pink (Dianthus carthusianorum) is a loose, carpet-like, winter-green perennial that produces purple-red, wheel-shaped flowers with a pleasant fragrance from June to September. Its lanceolate leaves are dark green. In a sunny location with well-drained, calcareous, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 25 cm and grows to a width of approx. 50 cm. The Carthusian pink is well tolerant of frost.
