Description
The Wild carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus) is an upright, winter-green perennial that produces white, pink, red or dark red, wheel-shaped flowers with a pleasant fragrance from May to August. Its lanceolate leaves are dark green. In a sunny location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 50 cm and is approx. 30 cm wide.

Care
- Withered and yellow leaves must be plucked out regularly and old branches cut out. This encourages the growth of new flowers. - Regular watering in summer is particularly important. Morning or evening is the best time for this. It should also be watered slowly and, if possible, not over the flowers and leaves.

Dianthus caryophyllus forms wheel-shaped, white, pink, red and dark red flowers from May. These exude a pleasant fragrance.
