Description
The Globe thistle (Echinops ritro) is an upright perennial that forms blue-grey, ball-shaped flowers from July to September. Its pinnate, toothed leaves are grey-green. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 1.2 m and grows to a width of approx. 40 cm. The Globe thistle is well tolerant of frost.
