The Globe thistle 'Veitchs Blue' (Echinops ritro) is an upright perennial that forms blue, ball-shaped flowers from July to September. Its pinnate, toothed leaves are dark green. In a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 90 cm and is approx. 40 cm wide. The Globe thistle 'Veitchs Blue' is well tolerant of frost.
