Attention! The species Elodea canadensis is classified as an invasive species in Switzerland and may not be traded, planted or otherwise distributed there. With its green leaves, Canadian pondweed (Elodea canadensis) is an extremely decorative aquatic plant that is particularly suitable for areas such as pond edges, streams, ponds and aquariums. White flowers appear from June to August. It prefers well-drained soil in a sunny to semi-shady position. The Canadian pondweed is well tolerant of frost. The sprawling plant usually reaches a height of approx. 60 cm.
