The Ethiopian black banana 'Maurelii' (Ensete ventricosum) is a very popular evergreen container plant. Its red and white flowers appear from March to July. The location should be as sunny to semi-shady as possible. A well-drained and nutrient-rich soil is ideal. Under favourable conditions, the Ethiopian black banana 'Maurelii' reaches a height of approx. 3 m and grows up to 2.5 m wide.
