Description
The Red barrenwort (Epimedium x rubrum) is a rhizome-forming, winter-green perennial that forms red and white flowers arranged in racemes from April to May. Its heart-shaped leaves are dark green with light green veins. In a semi-shady to shady location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of approx. 35 cm and is approx. 30 cm wide. The Red barrenwort is well tolerant of frost.
