Description
The Common beech 'Asplenifolia' (Fagus sylvatica) is a broad, pyramidal, deciduous large tree with decorative, deeply slit, medium green leaves. It also bears greenish flowers from April to May. These produce brown fruits from September. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 25 metres and grows to a width of around 20 metres.
