Description
These produce brown fruits from September onwards. The Common beech 'Swat Magret' also bears egg-shaped, black-red leaves. The dark red shoots are also an interesting sight. In a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil, it usually reaches a height of around 30 metres and grows to a width of around 15 metres.
